Programs

The Hatchery is host to a variety of programs ranging from daily trainings to themed once-a-semester events. Explore ways you can get involved, and more, below!

How to join the Boston College Maker Community?

We require users to complete our online safety orientation to access The Hatchery Makerspaces. This is the first step to unlocking Hatchery tool trainings, workshops, and events.

How to schedule a training?

Once The Hatchery has confirmed your completion of our online safety orientation, you will gain access to our partner website QReserve. Use QReserve to book tool trainings, reserve machines, and sign up for workshops.

Who can use our spaces?

All Boston College students, faculty, and staff are welcome to use The Hatchery Makerspaces!

Trainings

Have you ever wanted to learn how to sew? Never heard of a laser cutter? Tool Trainings give makers a comprehensive understanding of how to operate our different machines. Show off your progress by advancing from Level 1 to Level 2 and 3 trainings.
Workshops & Events

Workshops and Events are a great way to get more involved in the Boston College maker community. Integrate your tool skills with one-of-a-kind workshops, like learning to sew a personalized cosmetic bag or laser-engraving your favorite album cover.
Collaborate
A group of students from a dance team organization, all dressed in matching red shirts, gathered for a collaborative activity.
The Hatchery created its outreach team, The CoLab, to bring fun, engaging, and customizable events to Boston College clubs and organizations. If you’re interested in collaborating alongside The Hatchery, fill out our Collaboration Form to get started!
